Gose is top fermented beer originally form Goslar in Germany. Gose is a sour wheat beer with 50% or more of malt barly. Moderate in alcohol (4-5%) it derives its saltiness from added salt or the salty water sources. Inoculated with lactobacillus from which it derives sourness, it should not be driven by hop bitterness and sometimes has coriander added to the brew. Modern day Gose recipes have been taken over by the craft beer industry in the US, Europe and Australia.
