The UK has been at the forefront of the beer production before and after the industrial era but saw an explosion of breweries after the 1850s and therefore instigated many beer styles: from Brown Ales, Pale Ales, IPAs, Porters and Stouts. Thanks to the Campaign for Real Ale the craft beer industry has been resurrected after the 1970s creating many legendary breweries in the past 50 years.
